Thousands of fashionistas, bloggers, designers and journalists flock to the Big Apple every fall to see what everyone will be wearing next spring during New York Fashion Week.
However, it appears that even the most ardent supporters of bunion-inducing high heels are starting to see the error of their ways. According to the Huffington Post, Victoria Beckham, who has had her share of bunion pain in the past, let her models wear Manolo Blahniks that were closer to the ground this year.
The British diva is known for her hunky husband and flawless and edited style, but her bunion pain has always been a thorn in her side, especially since she usually never leaves the house without at least a 4-inch heel. That being said, she was one of the biggest draws on this year's schedule, and the fashion industry agrees that she truly made a splash by showcasing flats that any woman can wear without causing pain in the feet.
"I want to design what I want to wear," Beckham said.
Hopefully, what she wants to wear is healthier shoes that make her bunion pain a thing of the past. Showcasing dazzling flats in her spring line is certainly a step in the right direction.
