The LA Fashion Magazine recently reported on a trend that has starlets and models walking down the red carpet in style. The look is pointed and metallic – and we're not talking daggers here.
Pointed, shiny gold-capped toes seem to be de rigueur, as they've been spotted on Heidi Klum, Rihanna, Alexa Chung and Kristen Stewart, to drop a few names.
The style is undoubtedly pretty and eye-catching, but it certainly can't be comfortable. The best way to find out is by trying these shoes on, and don't be afraid to walk around the store for a bit to see how they feel.
If you have bunions, note whether they're distorting the shape of the shoes. If they are, it's best to leave these shoes to the young and glamorous, because squeezing your tootsies in won't be good for your feet or the shoes.
According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, people with bunions and hammer toe should seek footwear with a toe box big enough to accommodate bony deformities, as well as good arch support.
